From Saturday 07 March 2015 to Sunday 23 August 2015

The Palais Galliera presents the first Parisian retrospective of Jeanne Lanvin, who founded the oldest fashion house still in operation. This exhibition offers an original scenography realised with the help of Alber Elbaz, the current artistic director of Lanvin. The exhibits come from the Palais Galliera's collections as well as of Lanvin's own collection. In 1908, Jeanne Lanvin proposed her first collection for children. Based on this success, she joined the great names of Parisian haute couture and opened several departments. The label employed more than 1,000 workers. In the 20s, the colour blue and its variations become a trademark for Lanvin, while Jeanne Lanvin made evening and lame boleros another trademark piece.
